Why Sports Matter at gl777
Ask any Filipino what they watch on weekends and chances are sports comes up quickly. Basketball dominates — PBA games draw massive TV audiences from Manila to Davao — but the country's sporting passion runs wider than that. Boxing night is a national event when a Filipino fighter is competing. Volleyball draws packed crowds at the UAAP. Football clubs in the English Premier League have huge followings here. And esports, particularly Mobile Legends and Dota 2, have built a serious competitive fan culture.
gl777's Sports section is designed around those realities. It covers the competitions Philippine fans actually follow, with markets that go beyond simple win/lose betting. The platform combines live sports coverage with the ability to place in-play wagers while the action is happening — all in PHP with no currency conversion involved.
Whether you're watching a PBA game from home in Quezon City, catching a Premier League match early Saturday morning, or tracking your chosen esports team through a tournament, gl777 gives you a way to engage with the sport at a deeper level while keeping full control of your budget.
What You Can Follow and Bet On at gl777
gl777's sports coverage is built around Philippine fan preferences, with strong international competition coverage added on top. Here's a closer look at each major category.
Basketball
PBA · NBA · FIBA
Basketball is the undisputed number-one sport in the Philippines and gl777 gives it the depth of coverage it deserves. PBA — the Philippine Basketball Association — is the centrepiece of local basketball, with three conference seasons per year generating constant betting interest. NBA coverage runs through the regular season, playoffs, and championship. FIBA international competitions including qualifying rounds for Philippine national team games are also included.
Football
EPL · UCL · La Liga · Serie A
Football fandom in the Philippines has grown steadily over the last decade, driven by satellite and streaming coverage of top European leagues. The English Premier League draws a particularly loyal following — early weekend morning games are a consistent part of many Filipino fans' weekly routine. At gl777, football coverage spans the Premier League, Champions League, La Liga, Serie A, and major international competitions including World Cup qualifiers.
Boxing
World Title Fights · Philippine Cards
The Philippines has produced some of the most celebrated boxers in world history and the country's passion for the sport runs deep. A major Filipino boxing match is a national event — families gather, workplaces slow down, everyone watches. gl777 covers major world title bouts and major international boxing nights, with markets on fight winner, method of victory, and round betting for the biggest matchups.
Esports
MLBB · Dota 2 · League of Legends
Esports has become one of the fastest-growing spectator sports in the Philippines. Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has an enormous Philippine fanbase with local and regional tournaments drawing huge online audiences. Dota 2 and League of Legends also have dedicated followings. gl777 covers major esports tournaments and regional leagues with both pre-match and live in-play betting on series and individual maps.
Volleyball
UAAP · PVL · International
Volleyball — women's volleyball in particular — has a passionate and vocal following in the Philippines. UAAP season volleyball games are among the most-attended and most-watched university sports events in the country. The Premier Volleyball League brings professional-level competition. gl777 covers domestic volleyball competition alongside international tournaments, with match winner and set betting markets available.
More Sports
Tennis · Badminton · MMA · Baseball
Beyond the primary sports, gl777 covers tennis Grand Slams and major tour events, badminton international series, mixed martial arts including international promotion events, baseball with MLB coverage, and other international competitions. Coverage expands during major global sporting periods including the Olympics and other multi-sport events involving Philippine athletes.
Watch the Game and Bet in Real Time
Live in-play sports betting at gl777 changes how you engage with the games you're already watching. Instead of committing to a prediction before the whistle, you can observe the early flow of the match, assess which team looks more in control, and place your bet based on what you're actually seeing.
For basketball fans this is particularly relevant. A team that looked strong on paper at tip-off can fall into foul trouble early, giving the opponent an opportunity. Noticing that shift before the odds fully adjust is where informed live betting becomes interesting. The same logic applies in football — a red card, an early goal, an injury to a key player — all create moments where the live odds tell a different story from the pre-match line.
The gl777 mobile app makes live betting particularly convenient. You can watch the game and place bets from the same device, with the interface loading quickly on standard Philippine 4G or home WiFi connections. Odds refresh automatically and bet placement is fast once you've decided on your selection.
Live betting markets are available for major matches across all covered sports. Some markets may suspend briefly during key in-game moments. Check the live section in your account for currently available fixtures. Full details in the Betting section.

What Makes Sports Betting at gl777 Work Well for Philippine Players
Beyond the sports coverage itself, a few platform-level features make the overall experience better for bettors in the Philippines.
Mobile-First Experience
The gl777 app is designed for mobile-first use — which matters for sports betting because most Filipino fans watch games on their phones or follow via mobile. Placing a live bet while the game is on doesn't require switching devices or opening a laptop. The interface is responsive and the bet slip works cleanly on touch screens.
PHP Account Balance
Your account runs entirely in Philippine Peso. When you see an odds value and want to bet ₱500, the ₱500 deducted is exactly that — no conversion rate applied, no uncertainty about what your effective stake is in local currency. This makes budgeting straightforward.
Multi-Sport Parlay Betting
If you have confidence across multiple matches on the same day — a PBA game, a Premier League result, and an esports series — you can combine them into a single parlay bet at gl777. Parlays multiply your odds across all selections, with the corresponding higher risk that all legs need to win.
Secure Account and Transactions
Account logins are protected with OTP verification and all transactions run over SSL-encrypted connections. Your sports betting history, pending bets, and balance are accessible only through your verified gl777 account. KYC verification ensures withdrawals go to the right person.
VIP Rewards for Active Sports Bettors
Sports bets contribute to your gl777 VIP tier progress alongside casino games and other eligible activity. Active sports bettors can build toward cashback, priority withdrawals, and other VIP tier perks just through regular betting. Check the VIP page for details on how the program works.
